About FEMTA

The collective voice of India’s authorised money changers

The Forex and Money Transfer Association (FEMTA) was formed to give a unified, responsible voice to India’s authorised money-changing community. Our members operate under the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA), 1999 and are regulated by the Reserve Bank of India.

From a handful of founding members, FEMTA has grown into a pan-India fraternity that supports its members with guidance, representation, training and a platform to collaborate.

🎯

Our Mission

To promote a fair, compliant and customer-friendly foreign-exchange ecosystem in India by representing the legitimate interests of authorised money changers, building member capacity, and acting as a bridge between the industry and its regulators.

🌅

Our Vision

To be the most trusted and effective representative body for the forex and money-transfer fraternity in India.

Our Objectives

  • Represent members before the RBI, government and other authorities on policy and compliance matters.
  • Promote ethical conduct and fair-practice standards across the trade.
  • Build member capacity through training, circulars and a shared knowledge base.
  • Facilitate dialogue, networking and collective problem-solving among members.
  • Support members with timely updates on regulatory changes and industry developments.
  • Help members access talent, technology and services on better terms.

Our Story

FEMTA was registered in 2017 (Regn. No. 24 of 2017) by a group of established money changers who saw the need for an organised, principled industry voice. Since then the association has steadily expanded its membership and the range of services it offers.
